Identify and Verify Critical Vulnerabilities

We feel so strongly about the importance of this recently issued patch that we have decided to send you this important information again.

There is a virus circulating which has been confirmed by Microsoft and third parties to be potentially harmful. Symantec considers the virus “low risk” because it is not yet widespread. Microsoft reports that network security devices such as firewalls “can help protect network resources from attacks that originate outside the enterprise perimeter.” This however, does not protect a network where laptops, cds and dvds can carry infections around the firewall.

ITSCNY prefers to wait a short amount of time after patches are released before applying them to production machines. Occasionally, patches are withdrawn from Microsoft or create new vulnerabilities. We feel sufficient time has elapsed for any patch problems to surface and concur with the authorities from Symantec, Ncircle and Microsoft. Therefore, we are recommending the application of the latest patches.

Please call us today to schedule the patch to the computers on your network. ITCSNY also has a service available to install patches on a regular basis. This service schedules the application of critical updates shortly after the patches are issued.

Critical Updates for Your Computer Needs

ITCSNY recommends the installation of Critical updates (Patches) shortly after their release to assure optimum security, uptime and performance. Microsoft releases critical updates as often as monthly, and on rare occasions, more frequently. Please call Maureen McHugh today to find out more about our program and to schedule a time to apply this critical patch.
