Leading Computer Security Authority Warns Businesses to Prepare for this year's April Virus Threats
President and Chief Technical Officer Dan Scolnick of IT Computer Support of New York warns that April is poised to be a high profile month for computer users and system administrators. Mr. Scolnick hopes that through increased awareness of the threat businesses will behave proactively and prepare for the usual malware onslaught in the press and in reality. April 1st (April fool's day) is infamous for computer related attacks, data breaches and press coverage. April has a long history as being a "hot" release day for malware as cybercriminals' try to outdo each other with the most successful viruses. Last year's Conficker worm, which has infected millions of computers worldwide, was big in the news and Mr. Scolnick warns the tradition will likely continue this April.
